Who we are

Maharashtra Mandal Ireland (MHMI) is a vibrant, volunteer-run community organisation founded to bring together Marathi-speaking people living across Ireland. We are a home away from home — a place where the language, art, traditions, and festivals of Maharashtra are kept alive, celebrated, and passed on to the next generation.

Whether you arrived in Ireland last week or have called it home for years, MHMI is your community. We exist for every Marathi person on this island — across Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, and beyond.

Our story

MHMI was born out of a simple but powerful idea: that being far from home should never mean losing your roots. Our founders believed that Maharashtrian culture — its poetry, its music, its festivals, its warmth — deserved to thrive in Ireland just as it does in Maharashtra.

From our first gathering to our landmark events — including Ireland's first Shiv Jayanti celebration and the historic Mahesh Kale concert, the first Marathi classical artist to perform in Dublin — MHMI has grown into a community that makes every Marathi person in Ireland feel seen, connected, and proud.

आम्ही कोण आहोत

महाराष्ट्र मंडळ आयर्लंड (MHMI) ही एक उत्साही, स्वयंसेवकांद्वारे चालवली जाणारी समुदाय संस्था आहे — आयर्लंडमध्ये राहणाऱ्या मराठी भाषिकांना एकत्र आणण्यासाठी स्थापन केलेली. आम्ही म्हणजे दूरदेशातील घर — एक असे ठिकाण जिथे महाराष्ट्राची भाषा, कला, परंपरा आणि उत्सव जिवंत राहतात, साजरे होतात आणि पुढच्या पिढीला दिले जातात.

तुम्ही आयर्लंडला नुकतेच आलात किंवा वर्षांपासून इथे राहत असाल — MHMI ही तुमची समुदाय आहे. डब्लिन, कॉर्क, गॉल्वे, लिमेरिक आणि संपूर्ण आयर्लंडमधील प्रत्येक मराठी माणसासाठी आम्ही आहोत.

आमची कहाणी

MHMI एका साध्या पण ताकदवान कल्पनेतून जन्मली: दूर देशात राहणे म्हणजे आपली मुळे विसरणे नव्हे. आमच्या संस्थापकांचा विश्वास होता की महाराष्ट्रीयन संस्कृती — तिची कविता, संगीत, सणवार, आणि ऊब — आयर्लंडमध्येही महाराष्ट्राइतकीच फुलली पाहिजे.

पहिल्या मेळाव्यापासून ते ऐतिहासिक कार्यक्रमांपर्यंत — आयर्लंडमधील पहिली शिवजयंती साजरी आणि डब्लिनमध्ये सादरीकरण करणारे पहिले मराठी कलाकार महेश काळे यांची मैफिली — MHMI एक असा समुदाय बनला आहे जो आयर्लंडमधील प्रत्येक मराठी माणसाला ओळखल्यासारखे, जोडल्यासारखे आणि अभिमानास्पद वाटवतो.

आमचे ध्येय

महाराष्ट्र मंडळ आयर्लंडची स्थापना तीन स्तंभांवर झाली आहे:

तुमचे व्यासपीठ, तुमची समुदाय

MHMI केवळ एक संस्था नाही — ती एक व्यासपीठ आहे. आयर्लंडमध्ये राहणारा कोणताही महाराष्ट्रीयन पुढाकार घेऊ शकतो, एखादा कार्यक्रम सुचवू शकतो किंवा उपक्रम राबवू शकतो. मराठी कवितासंध्या, क्रिकेट सामना, किंवा मुलांचा सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम — काहीही असो, MHMI तुमच्या पाठीशी आहे.

आम्ही पूर्णपणे स्वयंसेवकांद्वारे चालतो — जे आपला वेळ, कौशल्य आणि उत्साह समुदायाच्या शक्तीवर विश्वास ठेवून देतात. MHMI द्वारे होणारा प्रत्येक कार्यक्रम, प्रत्येक उत्सव, प्रत्येक नवी ओळख — हे सगळे त्या विश्वासाचे फळ आहे.
